Engadget reported that, to their surprise, the Win 7 HP Slate is still kicking. HP officially confirmed this morning that the product is still very much in the works. The outfits not sharing much, but a spokesperson from its Personal Systems group did tell us that theyre “in customer evaluations now and will make a determination soon on the next steps.”

You may recall that HP and Microsoft announced the product at CES and ever since it’s survival was under question. It is still no sealed as dead yet… but I have my reservation as to what kind of success such a tablet will have given that it runs Windows 7. The secret sauce of the iPad is iOS 4… a lean and mean OS made for touch devices. Windows 7 is far from lean… but it is for sure mean

Behold the iBag, which TUAW discussed briefly back in a March post about cheap accessories. A few enhancements will transform your iBag into the perfect iPad presentation system; its a veritable iPad car kit!

As you know, on Friday May 28, 2010 Apple launched the iPad in Canada. Before Sunday ended, every Apple Store and retailer across Canada that were selling iPads were sold out.

While there are thousands of new iPad owners in Canada, there are many people still trying to find one! So what do you do?

Answer: Get on the Apple iPad Priority List

The Apple iPad Priority list is a system available at Apple Retail Stores across Canada. Being on the list guarantees you your iPad of choice and to get on the list, you need to visit an Apple Retail Store. This is how it works:

Visit an Apple Retail Store

Find an Apple Employee and request to be on the iPad Priority List

The employee will bring you to a Mac where you choose which Canadian Apple Store to hold your iPad at and which iPad model you want on hold.

Enter your AppleID or create a new one and the reservation is made

The new Livestation website has now been optmised for iPad viewing. Livestation have made an HTML5 version of the site alongside the Flash one for general web consumption. Whether you are a techie or not, simply open the site on Safari on an iPad and enjoy the international news channels, as always, live 24/7.

If you still haven’t made up your mind on whether your life can have a meaning without an iPad, you can always watch the live news channels on iPhone and Blackberry by opening the browser and pointing it to http://www.livestation.com.

Enjoy your new iPads (I am sure you have one) and watch out for other platform news coming soon…

As can be seen below some of the video feeds do not appear to be iPad freindly yet but I am sure this will be corrected soon enough.

OK, the Canadian iBookstore are not empty per say… they are empty of commercial book titles. It appear as if Apple was not able to come to an agreement with Canadian publishers on selling eBooks in Canada.

Only books from the Gutenberg Project can be had for free at the moment. Earlier today the UK iBookstore was filled with titles from Bernard Cornwell, Tony Parsons and Malcolm Gladwell, among many others.

Will Canadian iBookstore follow soon? Let just hope!

Irrespective of Apple policy, we know that many of our readers already purchased a US iPad for use — gasp — outside of the United States. With favorable exchange rates and an early US launch really, who could blame you? But after notifying your local customs office and paying your government tithe, the very next thing you probably did was notice that you couldn’t buy iPad apps from your local iTunes app store. Now you can, at least if the sudden deluge of tweets and tips from Dutch, UK, German, Swiss and Canadian (like me) iPad owners now hitting Engadget inbox is any indication. Go ahead, give it a go and let us know the results in comments.

The app store is most certainly available in Canada now as I was able to install a new iPad application through it. Was is curious is the absense of the iBook application from the Canadian app store. Using the US iBook application with a Canadian iTunes account will lead to an empty iBook store… so it certainly is not ready yet. I will keep an eye an it and report when it becomes available.

UK-based BlueBox Avionics has announced the bluebox Ai, a portable IFE solution that combines the iPad with the company’s proprietary security technology. This allows BlueBox to protect “early-window” content, such as movies that have been cleared for in-flight showings but not yet for pay-per-view, DVD or digital sales.

The company is impressed with the iPad’s 10 hour battery life as well as the fact that it can be loaded with games, magazines, ebooks, custom apps, and video for each airline. Since iPads are wireless, new content can be loaded to the devices at any time. Individual iPads would also weigh less than the built-in IFE units.

The bluebox Ai is to be formally launched at the Aircraft Interiors Expo this week in Hamburg, Germany. BlueBox has announced that at least one international air carrier will begin distributing the iPads to passengers in July.

As you know by now (I hope) Flash is not supported on the iPhone nor the iPad. But Flash is used on most web sites out there. So how do you get to see those sites properly on the iPad? There is a free iPhone app (hope they will upgrade to iPad native soon) called Cloud Browse. This nifty application allows you to remotely control a full version of Firefox, enabling you to access websites that have Flash.

So that means streaming video websites such as Vimeo, Justin.tv, etc.

How does Cloud Browse work?

Cloud Browse goes beyond the limitations of a mobile device because it doesn’t use a scaled down web browser.

Instead, a full desktop browser is running remotely and being streamed to the iPhone/iPod Touch. The remote browser have access to higher bandwidth, more memory and faster processor than that of any mobile device.

Worried about privacy or security? Because Cloud Browse runs the browsers on a remote machine and not on your iPhone, there is no need to worry about websites grabbing your private information or leaving a trail of your browsing history.

Click here to get Cloud Browse
