Be my guest? Don't expect very helpful support with that attitude. I was about to help you until I got to the end of your post. Go buy a paid app and don't come back!

I'm running IOS 5 and OSX 10.7.2 - today both my shared printers showed when I hit the "print" command on my iPad, but selecting either one resulted in a window showing something going through the document pages followed by a error message popup saying the printer was no longer connected.

I installed the latest version - now both printers still show up on my MAC, only one on my iPad, and if I print I get the error popup immdiately - and if I click on the name of the printer itself I get a window that eventually says "no airprint printers (available...or something similar).

I hadn't tried printing in quite a while as it'd never worked. It still doesn't and there are no help files, plus the advanced window does nothing.

IS this basically dead software that no longer has support? Should it just be deleted in favor of a paid alternative?

You have added aparedir to the allowed applications? I had something similar happen to me after upgrading to Lion. I would keep seing error logs in the "Console" application about access being denied by the firewall even if I had allowed it. I had to re-install Lion from scratch instead of Snow Leopard upgrade to fix it. Maybe this is your case?

I installed the most recent version of the software and it will not work when the Mac firewall is on. I tried adding the code to the firewall that you have with the program but it did not work.

I feel your pain. I hope that the progress I made in turning the APADaemon in a simple command line tool will eventually help me make it a windows cocoa application.
There is some hope.

Cheers!

I noticed that the AirPrint Activator supports Mac OSs. Do you plan to support us poor men owning PCs with Windows in the future?

Probably not. I run IOS 5 and 10.7.2 at home with no issue… something else might be at play. Unless you are using APA v1.3? If so you might have to upgrade to v2.1b2.

Hi,
When I updated my iphone and ipad yesterday I lost my ability to print. Did apple mess with the ability of Activator?
Thanks,
Don McNeill

How does it work in iphone or ipad... not clear on that. Do I need to download the application to these devices first? Right now I am having a connection problem with my wireless printer, but once that is solved I hope to give this application a try.
