No real issues with NetbookInstaller except that it still hasn't restored my audio. I'm doing some fiddling to figure out what is up. I'll report back shortly.

A good method is to run the boot maker app to (re) create the boot drive so that you always have a way to recover your install. I would then run the NetbookInstaller form there.
If you previously ran the boot maker on that partiiton, you will either want yo delete the NetbookInstaller.app and NetbookInstallerCLI.app located in /Applications as the bootmaker currently doesn't do that (which I'll make it remove before the next version).

It wont restore the audio if you used 0.8.1 because that version installed a patched AppleHDA kext. 0.8.2 uses lnxneo's audio fix which requires a vanilla audio kext. An easy way to restore it would be to run the 10.5.8 (or 10.5.7) combo update.
This wont be an issue for new installs.
I'm don't think I'll include the original audio kexts as they are os version specific and because NetbookInstaller is still in alpha. I would be willing to write an app / script that restores them separately though.

And finally, how's the touchpad on the 10v. I haven't included JayK's fix (yet) however I did make it so that you can have two finger scrolling enabled and still click and drag. It'll temporarily disable scrolling while any button is pressed. I know it wont fix the issue, but it should make it slightly better.

I updated my thumb drive and it kernel panics when trying to boot. I used OS 10.5.0 to make the bootable USB drive... could this be the issue?

Trackpad works fine, but then again it always has for me. I guess the reason why is because I use edge scrolling, not two finger. I have click and drag enabled as well.

Just tried two finger. I can't get it to work with two fingers on the pad, but if I put more pressure on one it works just fine.

I reran the bootmaker version 0.8.1 on the thumb drive and it booted and I ran the installer (old version) but it still boots to a screen with garbage on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

NetbookBootMaker works just fine on my end. I'm going to use it tonight for a new install to my external drive. I unfortunately already installed 10.5.8 before this new version so I need to recover the original AppleHDA and IOAudioFamily kexts.

You can get a copy of the 10.5.8 kexts here: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/863180/Audio%20Kexts.zip
IOAudioFamily kext is unmodified and I believe the AppleHDA kext is as well.

I haven't tested it on 10.5.0. It should be installing kexts differently if it's before 10.5.6, but I'll have to double check.

Do you think if I safe booted and installed the 10.5.8 combo updater then booted off my thumb drive and ran netbootmaker 0.8.1 it would get me back to normal?
